The UCASC is headed by Dr. Jeffery Chalmers.  Dr. Chalmers has tremendous experience with optical, fluidic, magnetic, and electronic developments in the fields of research for biological applications.   Bryan McElwain, Laboratory Services Coordinator graduated from St.Bonaventure University with a degree in Biology and later a Masters of Science in Natural Sciences from SUNY Buffalo.  Bryan has been with OSU since 2003 and the UCASC since 2004. In addition to receiving training for the BD FAC Aria and Calibur, Bryan also runs the BD FACS Vantage at our Polaris location.

The Cytometry Core is headed by Dr. Lawerence Mathes and Dr. Mary Jo Burkhard.  Dr. Mathes has tremendous experience with flow cytometry applications, instruments, immunophenotyping, retroviruses, FIV, and cell tracking assays.  Dr. Burkhard focuses on Immunophenotyping, Infectious Diseases and has started clinical sample processing for veterinary clinic patients  Nicole White, Laboratory Services Coordinator graduated from The Evergreen State College with a degree in Molecular Biology.  Nicole has been with OSU since 2003 gaining work experience in various laboratories and formerly employed with the UCASC. In addition to receiving training for the BD FACS Aria, Calibur and Vantage.  Nicole also operates the new BSL2 iCyt Reflection dual sort head Cell Sorter. Sarah Leavell, Clinical Services Coordinator graduated from North Carolina State with a degree in Biology.  Sarah has been with OSU since 2004 and works closely with Dr. Mary Jo Burkhard. In addition to receiving training for the BD Calibur Sarah heads the Veterinary Clinical Samples with Dr. Burkhard.
