Knoell Named To FDA Advisory Committee

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Dr. Daren Knoell, associate professor of pharmacy, medicine and medical pharmacology at Ohio State University’s Dorothy M. Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute, has been appointed to the Food and Drug Administration’s Pulmonary-Allergy Drugs Advisory Committee.

As a member of this committee, Knoell will provide advice and recommendations to the FDA on the approval and use of safe and effective marketed and investigational medications that are used to treat pulmonary and allergic diseases. The committee also provides council to the FDA on controversial issues that may arise from consumer use of approved medications.

Knoell was selected based on his professional experience and scientific expertise that includes NIH supported studies that focus on cellular and molecular aspects of lung disease.
